Aunty Joy has come round and I’m excited . . . they’re going to write a dog! Well, I’m a dog, I can do that. Hrrumph. Oh, I’m Harley the Great Dane, by the way.

Oh hang on, my sister has turned up and she’s giving me some ‘needle’. She’s saying I haven’t ‘cottoned’ on to what’s happening. It’s a blog, apparently, not a dog. That’s made me very ‘cross’ and Joy and Jane are in ‘(w)hoops’ of laughter. I can’t help it, I have to lip read as I’m deaf, they’re always ‘stitching’ me up. Hrrumph! I guess my big sister Frida best take over as I’ve really lost the ‘thread’ now.

Well, hello, this is Frida taking over while Jane and Joy make another cup of coffee. This sewing business is really boring. Oh heck . . .the ‘sew and sews’ are coming back to the office, so I’d better retire to join my brother on the sofa.

Well, we leave the room for five minutes, and find the dogs have ‘spun’ a right ‘yarn’. They’ve had a pun-ishingly good time while the kettles been boiling!

So, we might as well continue with this ‘thread’ and ‘chart’ our progress to date with J Needlecraft. We have about 20 designs ready to be turned into kits and the front covers will be ready to go to the printers in the next two or three days.

It means there will then be kits to make up, deliveries to be made to local craft outlets and more work on developing the on-line marketing. Meanwhile, Jane will have to work at charting new designs and Joy will have to work at the marketing and promotional side of things.

As a taster – the designs include botanical, art noveau and fruit themes. We’ve posted one of the images today so you can see a J Needlecraft design. We hope you like it and would be interested in your thoughts.

We’d also love to hear from anyone else out there who has developed their own cross stitch business.

And we’ll end by saying we would, of course, love to hear from you if you have any more awful puns we can share with the cross stitch community!
